I wonder how King Tut died. I looked in Tutankhamun and Pyramids to find out more.
My first book was King Tutankhamun. I learned about Tutankhamun. I learned that there is a sun god in Egyptian beliefs. The Egyptians believed that a statue of a jackal would become alive and protect the mummy. That is not true. A guy named Carter discovered him. A guy named Carnarvon died from a mosquito bite. Everyone who discovered him died except for Carter. Carter pulled King Tut out and saw that King Tut had a mosquito bite in the same place as Carnarvon. He was a great Egyptian warrior.
In my second book, Pyramids, I learned about pyramids. I learned that a pharaoh was buried in there. A pharaoh was put into a little place called a sarcophagus. There are about five or six layers to the sarcophagus. The mummies’ treasures and a chamber for the mummy to lay in there with his treasures can be found in the pyramids. There were golden jackal couches, jackal statues, old Egyptian coins, and other treasures. They kept the heart inside the body because in the afterlife they believed it would be weighed. If it was light as a feather, they thought he would be forgiven. If it was not, he would be eaten by one of the demons of the afterlife.
Some of the same information was in both books, including that King Tut’s tomb was not robbed for over 3,000 years. A falcon god named Horus was the sky and sun god. We know that we should never worship another god. We should worship the God in the heavens. A guy named Carter discovered Tutankhamun. The Egyptians believed in a jackal statue. They believed that it would come to life and protect the pharaoh.
Studying two books about the same topic was very fun because it was a good way to get a lot of Egypt information. I LOVED IT! I MEAN IT!
